There are 28 species of Lavender and are apart of the mint family. These evergreen shrubs are known for their strong fragrance and leaves with aromatic oils. The grey-green leaves that are quite thin with the narrow stalk and purple, pink or cream oval shaped blooms on top. They work great as hedges and can be put into containers too. Position somewhere in the full sunshine as they perform best in that area. Lavender can grow in a lot of different soils just as long as the soil is well-drained.
