Why we send frequent emails (and why we’ve moved away from printed catalogues)

We know three emails a week might seem like a lot, but there’s a good reason! Because we offer live plants and bulbs, there’s often only a narrow window to make certain varieties available – sometimes just days or a couple of weeks. Our emails are the best way to let you know about new arrivals, limited-time offers, and seasonal must-haves before they sell out.

Like most businesses, we’ve experienced some very “different” years during the pandemic and have had to adapt quickly to a rapidly changing world. One of the biggest challenges was stock allocation for our traditional printed catalogues – many plants were selling out before the catalogue even reached your letterbox! The long lead times needed to prepare and print catalogues meant we had to lock in stock months in advance. By the time you received the catalogue, some varieties were already unavailable or only available in much smaller quantities due to climate and crop changes. This just didn’t work for live plants and bulbs, where timing and availability can change so quickly.

Since COVID, we’ve moved away from printed catalogues and now rely on email and social media to keep you in the loop. As a result, you may notice we send emails a little more frequently, but this ensures you’re among the first to hear about our latest arrivals and special offers – giving you the best chance to secure your favourites before they’re gone. We want to make sure you never miss out on the plants and garden inspiration you love – when they’re at their freshest and best.

Ultimately, the choice is yours—you decide how often you hear from us. You can opt to receive just one, two, or all three of our weekly emails, depending on what suits you best.
