Few flowers can match the intensity of the colour of Blue Ginger in flower. Very good as a potted plant. Naturally a shade lover but give morning sun with afternoon shade for best results. It is not a true Ginger but is called one because it grows in a similar way.

A small growing nut tree that has branches are produced in an attractive layer pastern from a swollen base trunk. The flowers are huge brushes with a beautiful night time perfume. Flowers twice a year, late spring and again in autumn in tropical areas. Nuts are edible tasting similar to chestnuts.

Hedychium gamerianum
Profusely bears masses of perfumed flower spikes in late Summer to early Autumn. Their large foliage creates a tropical look in the garden with sweet scented white flowers in late summer to early spring. Clumping habit to 1m H x 1m W. Preferred aspect - sun or filtered sun. Can be used for broad borders and clumps in mixed perennial beds.
