Carphalea kirondron 'Flaming Beauty'
I took these photos today, 18 March 2008. The traffic-stopper on the nature strip at Mapleton, South East Queensland, is smothered with red clusters except where the background hedge steals its aspect.
The plant leaning over the six foot fence is at Nambour, about 15km down the hill from Mapleton. I couldn't see the main part of the plant behind the fence but, even though it has not been pruned to shape like the Mapleton example, it is flowering like crazy despite its leggyness.
