ALLIUM COWANNII

Family: Alliaceae

Alternate Names: Allium neapolitanum, Naples Garlic, Daffodil Garlic, Flowering Onion

Origin: Southern Europe and North Africa

Flowering Season: Late Spring after leaves have died back

Plant Size: 20-40cm H

Watering: Prefers a well drained soil. Maintain soil moisture while actively growing.

Fertilising: Work a small amount of complete granular fertiliser through soil prior to planting.

Lifting and storage: Can be left undisturbed in lighter, sandy soils. In heavier soils lift bulbs each year if area stays damp over the Summer. Top dress with complete fertiliser each Autumn.

Pests: Not usually a problem.

Tips: Prefers a sunny position. Excellent long lasting cut flower.
